SC: Consumer Complaint Against Bank Maintainable Over Dispute on Encashment of FD - (23 Aug 2022)

CONSUMER

Supreme Court has held that consumer complaint in a dispute regarding premature encashment of Joint Fixed Deposit by bank in contravention of terms and conditions is maintainable, since a person who avails any service from bank will fall under purview of 'consumer' under Consumer Protection Act.
