Kerala HC: Rape on False Promise of Marriage Can't Be Presumed on Marriage to Another Woman - (05 Apr 2022)

CRIMINAL

Kerala High Court has observed that merely because the accused contracted another marriage immediately after the sexual act with the victim, it cannot give rise to the presumption of lack of consent, setting aside the conviction of a man for the offence of rape on false promise of marriage.
