Central Government Introduces Bill to Collect Biometrics of Prisoners - (29 Mar 2022)

CIVIL

Central government has introduced the Criminal Procedure (Identification) Bill, 2022. The bill proposes to repeal Identification of Prisoner Act, 1920 and replace it with a new law that allows police officers to take measurements of convicts for the purposes of identification and investigation.
