Lok Sabha Passes NDPS(Amendment) Bill 2021 to Correct a Drafting Error - (14 Dec 2021)

NARCOTICS

Lok Sabha has passed the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Amendment) Bill, 2021 seeking to amend the NDPS Act, 1985 to correct a drafting error. The Bill amends the section on penalty to change the reference to the new clause number as per the amendment made in 2014. This amendment will be deemed to have been in effect from May 1, 2014.
