SC: 2 Year Prescribed Period for Lapse of Land Acquisition Proceedings Not to Apply to Award - (11 Nov 2021)

LAND ACQUISITION

Supreme Court has held that the 2 year period prescribed under the Land Acquisition Act 1894 for the lapse of land acquisition proceedings for not delivering the award will not apply to an award passed after the notification of the Right to Fair Compensation and Transparency in Land Acquisition, Rehabilitation and Resettlement Act, 2013.
