SC Disagrees Proposal to Allow State to Withdraw Criminal Cases Against Malicious Prosecution - (26 Aug 2021)

CIVIL

Supreme Court has disagreed with a proposal to allow state governments to withdraw criminal cases against sitting and former MPs/MLAs on ground of malicious prosecution. The Court has clarified that the sanction of the High Court is needed even to withdraw cases on ground of malicious prosecution.
