Karnataka HC Upholds Order Banning Sand Extraction from Rivers During Rainy Seasons - (19 May 2021)

Karnataka High Court has upheld the order of the Department of Mines and Geology prohibiting sand extraction from rivers during rainy season, observing that the ban was incorporated into the law for protecting the environment.
