NHRC Issues Notice on Viral News of Corpses Found Floating in River Ganga - (14 May 2021)

HUMAN RIGHTS

National Human Rights Commission has issued notices to the Centre and the Governments of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar over the viral news of corpses found floating in the river Ganga. The Commission has asked the Chief Secretaries of both the States and the Secretary, Union Ministry of Jal Shakti (Department of Water Resources, River Development & Ganga Rejuvenation), to file an action taken report within four weeks.
