SC Declares WB-HIRA Act Repugnant to Parliamentary Law of RERA Act, 2016 - (05 May 2021)

Supreme Court has declared the West Bengal Housing Industry Regulation Act of 2017 (WB-HIRA) “repugnant” to the Parliamentary law of Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act of 2016, saying the State wanted to create a “parallel regime” and encroached upon an identical Central law .
