Bombay HC: Goa State Cooperative Bank Ltd. is Not a 'State' Under Article 12 - (08 Mar 2021)

CONSTITUTION

Bombay High Court has held that the Goa State Cooperative Bank Ltd. is not a 'State' nor does it fall within the ambit of 'any other authority' for the purposes of Article 12 of the Constitution of India, 1949. The Court has further observed that the said Bank does not discharge any public functions which would warrant issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus.
