Bombay HC Dismisses Plea Challenging Penalty Provision of Pan Masala Rules as Ultra Vires - (09 Dec 2020)

Bombay High Court has dismissed the plea challenging Rule 17(2) of the Pan Masala Packing Machines (Capacity, Determination and Collection of Duty) Rules, 2008 as ultra vires under section 3A the Central Excise Act, 1944.
