Formation of a dedicated Export Promotion Council for Technical Textiles- (Ministry of Textiles) (01 Dec 2020)

Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs in its meeting held on 26th February 2020 has approved for constitution of dedicated Export Promotion Council (EPC) for Technical Textiles.

Therefore, it has been decided that a dedicated EPC in the Ministry of Textiles shall be constituted. Consequently, Exporter Association and Trade bodies registered under Companies Act or Society Registration Act are hereby invited to submit proposal for constitution of a dedicated EPC for Technical Textiles.

The terms & conditions of the council would be the same as per guidelines issued for adoption of Model/Uniform Articles of Association/Bye-laws by Department of Commerce vide letter dated 8th August 2000 and by DGFT under Foreign Trade Policy 2015-20 (Para 2.92 of Handbook of Procedures). The council shall abide by all directions of the Central Government in respect of promotion and development of international trade and would be responsible to promote ITC(HS) lines identified and Notified by Directorate General of Foreign Trade from time to time. 207 HS lines have been identified and Notified vide Notification No 54/2015-2020 dated 15.01.2019 that has been published in the Gazette of India Extraordinary Part-II, Section-3, Sub-section(ii).

A proposal in this regards should be reached to the undersigned by 15th December, 2020. This issues with the approval of competent Authority.
