Allahabad High Court: SC/ST Act Applies if Offence is Public - (25 Feb 2020)

CRIMINAL

Allahabad High Court has set aside an order of summoning under the Scheduled Castes and the Scheduled Tribes (Prevention of Atrocities) Act, 1989 (SC/ST Act), stating that the Act could be applied only to an offence committed in public places and would not cover any offence committed behind closed doors.
