Supreme Court: Anticipatory Bail Can be Given Till Completion of Trial - (30 Jan 2020)

CRIMINAL

Supreme Court has held that the discretionary power of Courts to grant anticipatory bail cannot be curtailed and such protection can extend till the end of the trial. The Court has further held that anticipatory bail should not invariably be limited to a fixed period unless there are any special or peculiar features necessitating the Court to limit the tenure of anticipatory bail.
