Supreme Court: Contractual Workers Entitled to Provident Fund Benefits - (20 Jan 2020)

LABOUR AND INDUSTRIAL

Supreme Court has ruled that casual workers are entitled to social security benefits under the Employees’ Provident Funds and Miscellaneous Provisions Act, 1952. The Court has also observed that an employer cannot differentiate between contractual and permanent employees.
