Bombay High Court Raps Goa for Letting Off Illegal Sand Miners with Paltry Fines - (20 Dec 2019)

Bombay High Court has rapped the Goa Government for its practice of releasing seized loads of illegally-extracted sand and gravel on payment of a paltry penalty. The Court while terming it illegal said this would only further encourage clandestine extraction of sand and gravel from riverbeds and riverbanks.
