Supreme Court: Article 142 can be Invoked to Dissolve Marriage Found to be Dead Letter - (18 Dec 2019)

Supreme Court has observed while dissolving a marriage on the ground of its irretrievable breakdown that while marriages are said to be made in heaven they are broken on earth. The Court further noted that there is thus recognition of the futility of a completely failed marriage being continued only on paper.
