Supreme Court Issues Notice to Centre on Plea Against UAPA Amendments - (09 Sep 2019)

Supreme Court has issued notices to the Central Government on a petition challenging the legality of recent amendments to the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act, 1967 (UAPA) allowing it to declare an individual a “terrorist” and also attach his or her properties even before trial.
