Apex Court: Cannot Compel Inter Religious Couple Who Executed Nikahnama to Register Marriage - (12 Aug 2019)

FAMILY

Apex Court has observed that the Court cannot force a couple being of two different faiths to get their marriage registered under the Special Marriage Act, 1954. This has diluted the direction issued by the Allahabad High Court to a couple who had executed Nikahnama to register their marriage under the Special Marriage Act, 1954.
