Calcutta High Court Orders Claimant to Plant 50 Trees - (22 Jul 2019)
CONTEMPT OF COURT
Calcutta High Court has ordered a litigant to plant 50 trees as punishment in lieu of imprisonment after finding a petitioner guilty of contempt. The High Court initiated suo motu contempt proceedings against the Petitioner after he had made serious allegations against its sitting judges and former Chief Justices.
