Supreme Court Says Aadhaar Card Is Not Compulsory - (12 Aug 2015)

Supreme Court has ruled that Aadhaar Unique Identity System will not be considered mandatory for Indian citizens to avail benefit of Government services. However, on discretion of card-owner, it can be used for availing subsidies in public distribution system, gas cylinders and purchasing kerosene.
