Death Sentence Only When Alternative Option is Unquestionably Foreclosed: SC - (28 Jan 2019)

Supreme Court has commuted death penalty to a man accused of rape and murder of a nine year old girl and observed that even though manner of commission of the crime is extremely brutal, a death sentence can be imposed only when the alternative option is unquestionably foreclosed.
