Madras High Court : Only IG of Prisons Entitled to Transfer Prisoners - (09 Nov 2015)

Madras High Court has held that a remand prisoner can be transferred from one prison to another only on the basis of a written order passed by Inspector General of Prisons and not on the strength of oral instructions issued either by the IG or any other officer.
