SC/ST Quota in Promotions: Supreme Court Verdict Today on Whether It Will Reconsider 2006 Order - (26 Sep 2018)

A five-judge Constitution Bench, in its 2006 verdict in the M Nagraj case, had said the states are bound to provide quantifiable data on the backwardness and inadequate representation of SC/STs in government jobs before providing quota in promotions.
